• Considering what it does, why is it so affordable?

Studio Suite does so much more than other applications designed for this industry, even those costing over £1,500! AlterMedia's goal was to develop and provide a "standard" suite of software tools for the professional, multi-room corporate recording industry, whilst also making it affordable to the growing market of project studios.

• What do I need to run Studio Suite?

Studio Suite is a cross-platform application that runs under FileMaker Pro. So, in essence, all you need to get started are a Mac or PC and a copy of FileMaker® Pro. The actual minimum system requirements are as follows:

Power Macintosh or Pentium PC, Monitor with at least 800 x 600 resolution, Minimum 32 MB RAM (we strongly urge you to have more), Minimum 30 MB Hard Disk Space, CD-ROM Drive, Mac System 7.1 or later or Windows 95, 98, ME, Windows NT or 2000, Your purchased copy of Studio Suite requires FileMaker® Pro V5.0V3 or above, by FileMaker, Inc. Each machine running Studio Suite must have a seperate copy of FileMaker® Pro

• Networking?

Studio Suite may be accessed by up to 25-networked computers. If your network has 5 or more client (guest) machines, you may want to purchase the FileMaker Pro Server application, which will provide greater network performance, tools, and the capability to connect up to 100 users. Studio Suite is not only cross-platform (Mac & PC), but cross-platform networkable.

• Can I tweak it?

For those familiar with FileMaker Pro, Studio Suite ships with full access to Layout Mode and ScriptMaker in most files, but "Define Fields" are locked out for safety and security reasons.

• I need some special functions, but I'm not a computer anorak....

• Can I import data from Excel™ or other databases?

Yes, as long as they will export to a common file format (most programs will).

• Can I export data to my accounting program?
